Hi, my name is Amira ...

I'm an Egyptian-American visual artist currently based in D.C. My main media are acrylic paint and photography, occasionally pulling in elements of calligraphy, fabric, dried flowers, and other media - drawing inspiration from my background, nature, and poetry. 

The majority of my work is slow-paced, self-initiated - stemming from personal interest, curiosity, and self-expression. Inspired by art’s ability to influence perception, educate, and move, I attempt to use my work to raise awareness about critical issues facing and inflicted on the region.
